Directions
1. Go to the challenge link and view all the visual prompts and/or descriptions for the challenge.
2. Decide how best to present this challenge to your students. If the challenge involves visual prompts, have all students respond to one prompt chosen by you, or allow them to choose their own visual prompt. Don't forget to check out our Teacher to Teacher resource page which has lesson plans and assessment models.
3. Before your students begin to write, make sure you know what type of writing is involved in the challenge.
4. If you are representing a classroom, select three of your best responses to submit to The Paper Bag Challenge. Remember that we will post four different challenges during the year. At this time, we cannot support unlimited students' work on our site, so we are asking teachers to send in the best work from their class for each challenge.
5. Use the online entry form to submit your students' writings. You must fill out a separate form for each submission. Be sure to note the deadline for each challenge.
6. To view the students' work, go to the website and click on The Gallery.
Optional
Download and print out our award certificate for those students whose work
is posted in The Paper Bag Gallery.
